HOMEMADE PIZZA DOUGH WITH BREAD MACHINE

Making homemade dough with bread machine

Today we are highlighting a kitchen appliance that many of you may already own — a bread machine. That’s right, time to dust off your bread machine to make some homemade pizza dough for a family night this week. This recipe is a cinch when you can have the machine do all the hard work for you. Making homemade pizza dough isn’t quick, but it can be a much simpler process if you use a bread machine. Let’s get cooking!

For this recipe you will need the following:

  • Water
  • Honey
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • Bread flour
  • All purpose flour
  • Italian seasoning
  • Active dry yeast

What we love the most about making bread machine dough is that aside from the measuring, you won’t have to do much besides wait for the bread machine to work its magic. Remember to add the ingredients in the exact order listed and select the dough setting on your machine. The most important thing is to have the paddle securely in place before adding the ingredients in, because it won’t be able to stir everything together without that part in place. Since you will be using a bread machine, you don’t have to do any of the kneading either.

Measurements:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • ¾ tsp honey
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ Tbsp oil
  • 2 ⅔ cup bread flour
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 ¾ tsp active dry yeast (can use either instant or bread machine kind)

Once you hit start, your machine should automatically begin mixing your dough. Homemade pizza dough always tastes better than store bought canned, hands down. Your whole family will love the freshness of this homemade pizza. You can either split the dough into sections to make individual sized pizzas, or keep it as one whole pizza and roll the entire dough out to the proper size for your pizza pan. Either way, this dough provides a crust that is sturdy enough to hold your toppings without being floppy or end up soggy. You can always adjust this recipe according to how many people you need to feed as well.

For the best results, we recommend cooking your raw pizza dough at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes before you add the toppings. After you add all the toppings, cook the pizza for another 10 minutes or more until the cheese is melted and the crust is cooked through. We hope you enjoy making your own homemade pizza dough with the help of this yummy pizza dough recipe. Bon appetit!
