Recipe for a Beautiful Face (Dry Skin Care)

What is dry skin and what causes it?

Dry skin is when your skin doesn’t produce enough oil and moisture, causing dryness and making you look older. There are many reasons why this happens: the weather (especially colder climates), stress levels that increase cortisol production, lack of hydration or dry indoor heating.

Additionally dry skin is caused by dry air, dry climates or dry indoor heating. In the winter dry air in your home is dryer than the winter outdoor air. So when you heat up your house, even if it’s not cold outside (about 40 degrees Fahrenheit) the dry indoor air can dry out and irritate skin. This causes dryness that makes fine lines or wrinkles appear more pronounced.

How to prevent dry skin from happening

Prevent dry skin by moisturizing your face every day. Use a rich moisturizer with sunscreen, because the sun uv rays causes dryness to worsen. Drink lots of water and eat foods that are good for you in order to prevent dry skin from happening again.

Dry skin can be prevented if it is taken care of when dry patches appear on your face. Dry skin can happen as you age and dryness is very common for those who live in dry climates or the winter seasons.

You also need to take care of dry patches that appear on your face by using a moisturizer with sunscreen every day, drinking lots of water and eating foods that are good for you. If dry skin becomes severe, you should see a dermatologist.
